Reeeeeowr! A longer version of my trip to Asakusa!
I miss the way Kyja used to go Reeeooowwr. She does it best out of everyone I've heard, I think.
Anyway, last Sunday I went to Asakusa, as I wrote before, a famous district in Tokyo for the Kaminari Gate and for the Kannon Temple... Kannon here is the goddess of mercy, by the way.
So yeah, before you go into the temple, there is a massive shopping street, and I bought one of the famous red bean cakes they make, and it was SO delicious!
But that wasnt the end, of course! When I walked through the gates of the place, I felt an immense sense of something... I can't describe what, but I definitely felt something. I bought 100 yen of incense sticks, and threw them into the cleansing fire, and scooped the healing heat onto my body, which is what you're meant to do, of course. It was wonderful, but a bit hot, since that day was also quite hot :p
When I got into the temple, I was surprised just how many people there were! Since there was a crowd before the donation box thing, people were throwing coins over peoples heads to try and get into the box... Of course, they didnt always get there, and many people ended up getting hit in the head, myself included.. Nonetheless, I DID eventually get to the front and prayed for many things... for my japanese to improve, to always be healthy, and I also prayed for Kat's health to get better.. Hopefully Kannon heard my prayers, eh? ;)
After that, I walked around the temple grounds, bought a snowcone, the Cat Keychains that hang off my phone, as I wrote last week..
Anyway, I figured I'd better write more out, since my last entry was pissweak.
But yeah, this week has been a bit of a low for me. I felt a bit lonely this week, and my spirits were a bit down... I'm not quite sure why, but yeah, this week has just been about waiting for the weekend. Usually I enjoy my week, but yeah, this week has been a bit shit... Japanese staff NOT telling me about add-ins that mysteriously turn up to my class, and yeah, stuff like that has put me off this week.
But now, I sit here, exhausted, still a little sad, so I might try and call Kat... or not, since she might be busy doing lease stuff, I suppose. Can't wait to give her a call, and to send some stuff now that she will have a permanent address! Woot!
Oh yeah, and I've been paid! Yaaaaaaahhh! I now have 150,000 yen (about 1,700 aussie dollars) in my account, after budgeting for food and luxuries! Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! this rocks!
I am over that honeymoon phase that everyone has when they get here, though it never reached that intense high that some people get. My whole life here has been living in comfortable mellows, and I think I like it... All this intense negative and positive can go fuck itself..
I feel lonely atm, but writing here is always helpful. I always feel a little bit better for a little while.. Bleh..
Anyway, will get a call from family soon, and I have my new NIN album to listen to, so that should work to combat the blues.. Either that or I'll just go on some random adventure in this place they call Tokyo.
P.s. hope you feel better, Brett!
Bleh.... I'm over this.
